My name is Stephanie Richter. I am the Assistant Director of the Faculty Development and Instructional Design Center at Northern Illinois University. In that role, I train and consult with faculty about teaching methods (both face-to-face and online), assessment techniques, and using technology to support learning. I assist our director, Jason Rhode, with Center operations and serve on a variety of committees across the university to promote effective teaching practice, technology use, and faculty support.
I am also pursuing a Ph.D. in Instructional Technology, where I am focusing on online learning and MOOCs.
In my spare time (what spare time? I’m a doc student, after all!) I like to make jewelry, read books (used to be fantasy/sci fi novels, but now I curl up with research articles), and collect old junk from estate sales and flea markets.
